If you want to get behind the wheel of your school or commercial minibus, you will probably need to hold a D1 licence. Where possible, you will be able to complete your training course using your own vehicle, giving you the opportunity to familiarise yourself with its operation before taking it out on the roads. Training will also be conducted at your school to enable you to feel confident in your surroundings during the course.

All minibus driving instructors are highly trained former Police traffic officers who have the expertise required to give you the skills that you need to safely drive your minibus.

Minibus Defensive Driving Programme
In addition to driver training, we also offer the Minibus Defensive Driving Programme. Although this is not a replacement for the D1 minibus licence, it can help to ensure that your drivers are prepared for the responsibility of carrying pupils.
This programme also helps to ensure your legal obligations under the prevailing ‘duty of care’ legislation.
